Thanksgiving with the gang 2010

After spending time with the familia (Raquel, MOM and Mel) after I cooked the turkey for them. I also got to do our laundry near their home in Madrid/Geneva Street. Raquel bought the Coffee Walnut Bavarian cake which was so good from Red Ribbon. We headed to our home first here in DC to wait for Nelson to come home from work. Yes, he worked Thanksgiving. We got there around 5pm and most of the gang were there already and they were waiting for us before they can eat.

Thanksgiving with my familia

Celebrating Thanksgiving with my familia at their new place. I like their place...it's a 2 bedroom and I like the screen that Raquel had picked out. The Turkey this year came out quite good as I have to say coz' Raquel bought lemon grass which I put in the cavity of the young turkey.

Thanksgiving '09

We celebrated Thanksgiving this Year in Foster City again--Jade and Elaine's Town home.

Madee who is about a year old already here isn't she adorable...she is walking around now. Oh-Uh!

What we love to do best playing cards to wile away the time. I don't play cards just take pictures of our brood here and just enjoy their laughter.

The kids entertaining us with their talents by playing Rockband,Mica is such an accomplished singer just like her mom.

Our cheese and fruit tray I love it I kept munchin' on it from Whole Foods again. I love,love this store.

Giving Thanks...

Thanksgiving Dinner.

DH and I started early to do our prep for our Thanksgiving Dinner. I prepped the Turkey to bake around 8:30am (it was a 21 pounder, Mom bought it at Costco).

Cooking Filipino does a lot of prep work and I was DH assistant (I did most of the cutting and washing the dishes and pans we've used). But DH was like a cooking machine: He cooked the following dishes. You know the typical Filipino Thanksgiving feast (LOL!)

1. Pancit (noodle dish w/veggies)
2. Bopis (a Pampangan delicacy)
3. Sisig (another delicacy)
4. Long bean w/shrimp

Semi-homemade cooking for ME!

1. Turkey
2. Honeybaked Ham (brought by our friend Elaine)
3. Jade brought Choco Mocha Crunch cake (delicious!!!) from Red Ribbon
4. Meatloaf and Watermelon brought by Anita&Anmar.
5. From Hilda's Bakeshop: Leche Flan, Hopia and Puto/Kutsinta.

Elaine led us to a prayer and giving thanks for sharing it w/our family and friends  this Thanksgiving Dinner.

We had a great time eating and just sharing some memories...

Found pictures from Flickr might as well post them here so I will always remember them. I am glad that it had dates on them coz' I wouldn't remember it. From the pictures you can see that we haven't had our place remodeled yet. NO pictures of Mai2 and Edwin coz' misunderstanding with Elaine. Oh, well.

Of course, I baked the Turkey.

DH and I were busy buying last minutes things we need for our Thanksgiving dinner.  We thought it was only going to be lil' bro and Mommy but it's going to be at least 15 people that we will be sharing our Thanksgiving dinner.
